Dental on 8th is pleased to utilize Digital X-Rays. Rather than film, Digital X-Rays instead use a small sensor placed directly inside your mouth. This technique is more comfortable and quicker than traditional X-rays, as the image appears on the computer screen in only a matter of seconds. Traditional X-rays can take 5 minutes or more to get viewable transparency. It is also more precise because the image is 10x larger than a traditional X-Ray. This allows your dentist to zoom into the digital image and better evaluate and educate the patient about their oral health. Digital X-Rays also result in less than 90% less radiation exposure to you, which is beneficial to your health, as well as environmentally friendly.
Dental on 8th is pleased to make use of intraoral camera technology. An intraoral camera is a tiny camera that allows our dentists to have clear and precise images of your mouth, teeth, and gums so that they can make an accurate diagnosis. The images are clear, defined and enlarged, allowing us to see details that perhaps may be missed by standard mirror examination. This can result in quicker diagnosis in less time.
The use of intraoral camera images also allows Dental on 8th to save your images to our computers in order to provide a permanent record of treatments. The images can easily be printed off for you, other specialists, and your lab or insurance companies.
Don’t put off going to the dentist because of anxiety over the needle or the sound of the drill. Now you have Solea®, an advanced new dental laser technology that is virtually replacing the needle, drill, and scalpel in the dental office. Solea® can accommodate patients of all ages and procedures of all kinds—without the need for anesthetic in most cases.

Answer: Insurance typically covers the cost of Solea® just like procedures performed with a drill. There is no additional cost for a Solea® treatment.
